Torn Faction

Torn faction coordination tool. Log in with your Torn API key to get started.

Getting an API key

  1. Open the API Keys tab of your Torn settings.
  2. Create a new key, give it a name you'll recognize (like "Torn Faction"), and set its access level to Limited Access.
  3. Copy the 16-character key and paste it above.

Limited Access is needed because this site reads your battle stats, which lower levels can't see. If you prefer a Custom key, include the user basic, profile, property, battlestats, attacks, hof, discord, equipment, job, bars, cooldowns, refills, travel, bounties, money, personalstats, organizedcrime, and inventory selections, the faction basic, members, wars, warfareranked, rankedwars, rankedwarreport, chain, chains, and chainreport selections (and balance and attacks, if you lead your faction), and the torn bounties, companies, and items selections (FF Scouter needs attacks and hof). You can delete the key on Torn at any time to revoke access.

How your key and data are used

Data storage
Your Torn ID, name, faction (and its name and size), battle stats (strength, defense, speed, dexterity), equipped weapons and armor, Discord ID (if you've linked Discord to Torn), the property you live in, your job or company, who you're married or engaged to, your maximum happiness, the time zone your browser reports when you log in, when you first and last used this site, the attack groups you create or join, when you were reminded about them, the withdrawals you ask for from your faction balance (the amount, your note, when, and whether a banker completed or denied it, with any message), when you agreed to FF Scouter's terms, your Bounty Hunter fair fight limit, how you fly abroad and how many items you can bring back (for Cargo Hunter), the Cargo Hunter alerts you turn on (which cargo, the address your browser gave for its notifications, and for an alert before you land, when your flight lands; kept until the alert is sent, you turn it off, or 48 hours pass), if you lead your faction, which browsers you've turned on notifications of its withdrawal requests for (the address each gave for them), the missions you post (if you lead your faction), and the missions you pass: when, and whether a leader has marked your reward paid. When a leader of your faction first opens one of its ranked wars in the War Analysis tool, that war is saved for your faction: Torn's report of it (each member's hits and score) and the attacks made by and on your faction's members during it (who attacked whom and when, the result, the respect it gained, and whether it was abroad), and the payout your faction's leaders set for it (a modifier for each kind of hit, the amount to share out, and which leader set it, when). Your stats, equipment, Discord ID, property, job, spouse, maximum happiness, and faction are refreshed each time you visit, and when anyone in your faction refreshes the Members page. When you refresh the Members page, the public Torn details (property and its happiness, job or company, spouse, and Discord ID) of faction members who haven't saved a key here are read with your key, stored, and shown to your faction.
Data sharing
Members of your current faction who use this site can see your total battle stats, Discord ID, the property you live in, your job or company, who you're married or engaged to, your maximum happiness, time zone, last visit, and attack groups, plus your live energy, life, drug, booster, and medical cooldowns, whether you have used today's energy refill, when your current flight lands, how long your latest flight took and how you flew, any bounties on you, and your score so far in a ranked war (see below). Only your faction's leader and co-leader (and this site's owner, if they're in your faction) can see your battle stats broken down by stat and your equipped weapons and armor. If your faction's leader or co-leader connects a Discord channel, reminders for the attack groups you join are posted there: they mention you through your linked Discord account and say when the attack starts and, if you're abroad, where you are and when to fly home. If they connect a banking channel, the withdrawals you ask for are posted there with your name, Torn ID, the amount, and your note, and anyone who can see that channel can mark them completed or denied. Your faction's leader and co-leader (and this site's owner, if they're in your faction) also see your pending requests on the Banking page, and can mark them there. Those who turn on notifications of them get one in their browser when you ask, with your name, the amount, and your note, sent through their browser's push service, encrypted so that only their browser can read it. Your faction balance is read with your key when you open the Banking page, ask for a withdrawal, or verify a mission that asks about it; it's shown only to you and not saved. If you lead your faction, opening the Send Items tool reads every member's faction balance with your key; members' balances are shown there only to your faction's leader and co-leader (and this site's owner, if they're in your faction), as Torn shows them in your faction's controls, and aren't saved. Opening War Status reads your faction's current ranked war and chain and the enemy faction's members (public Torn data) with your key, and asks FF Scouter how strong each member of both factions is, which is shown only to you. While anyone in your faction has it open, your faction's war is read every few seconds with your faction's members' saved keys in turn (see Key storage & sharing), or with yours while you have it open if theirs are all at their limit (within the 40 a minute below), and when you call the faction's next chain hit there, your name, the target, and which hit it is are shown to your faction until the hit is made, and when you offer to assist with a called hit, your name, when you'll join the attack, and the temporary weapon you have equipped are shown the same way (kept in memory, not saved). If you lead your faction and Torn lets you see its attacks (it needs your faction's API access permission), it also reads the faction's attacks since the war began with your key (a request per 100, then only the new ones, at most 4 times a minute while you have it open), to show everyone in your faction each member's war score so far and every attack its members have made during the war (who attacked whom, when, the result, the respect, where it came in the chain, and whether it was abroad); these are kept in memory, not saved. Opening the War Analysis tool reads your faction's list of recent ranked wars with your key. If you lead your faction, opening one of those wars there for the first time also reads it with your key: Torn's report of it and, if Torn lets you see them (it needs your faction's API access permission), the attacks made by and on your faction's members during it, which are then saved for your faction (see Data storage). Everyone in your faction can then see that war there: each member's hits and score, how their hits went, how often the enemy hit them in Torn or abroad and the score that gave the enemy, and how often they hospitalized faction mates or were hospitalized by them (who did it, from each member's own attacks, read with their saved key; see Key storage & sharing), and each member's share of the war's payout, worked out from those figures as your faction's leaders set it. While you're flying or abroad, Cargo Hunter reads your flight with your key (where to, and when it took off and lands) to time your next trip; it's shown only to you and not saved, except that turning on an alert for a minute before you land reads your flight again and keeps when it lands with the alert. When you choose a country, Cargo Hunter also reads your current organized crime with your key (its name, status, and when it's ready to start) to warn you if a round trip there wouldn't get you back in time, and your inventory (only the kinds of goods that country's shops deal in) to show which of your items you could sell there and for how much; both are shown only to you and not saved, though your inventory is kept in memory for up to an hour, as long as Torn keeps its own copy of it. When you click Verify on a mission, your key reads only what that mission asks about: your battle stats, property, or faction balance; your personal stats (Xanax taken, items bought abroad, trips to a country, organized crimes, or your active streak), now and as they were on the day the mission counts from; or your faction's recent chain reports. Only a pass is saved. Your faction's leader and co-leader (and this site's owner, if they're in your faction) see which missions you've passed and when, so a pass tells them you met its condition, such as a battle stat or faction balance of at least its amount; other members don't see your results. When you log in, your key is registered with FF Scouter (ffscouter.com) and sent there to estimate how strong other players, such as bounty targets, are compared with you, and to find players a little weaker than you (inactive ones, for Easy Target and War Status's Outside Hit button); FF Scouter keeps it under its own Data Policy and Terms, which you agree to when you log in. When a Cargo Hunter alert you turned on is due, its notification (the country, the cargo, when you'd land, and the cargo's stock) goes through your browser's push service, such as Google's for Chrome or Mozilla's for Firefox, encrypted so that only your browser can read it. This site's owner can see which players and factions use it, when each player first and last visited, and how many requests it makes with each player's key. Nothing else is shared with anyone else or with any other service.
Purpose of use
Faction coordination: showing your faction where its members are, how strong they are, and who is ready to fight; reminding members when to fly home and attack together; passing members' withdrawal requests to their faction's bankers; helping leaders send items to members and charge them to their faction balance; showing factions both sides of their ranked war as it happens, and how each member did in their ranked wars; posting missions and checking who has completed them; finding bounty targets and easy targets members can attack; timing members' trips abroad to buy cargo, with a notification when it's time to fly if they ask for one; and showing them which of their items they could sell abroad.
Key storage & sharing
Your key is saved on this site's server, encrypted, so it can read your live status for your faction even when you're not here: about twice a minute while someone is viewing it, and in the hours before an attack group you've joined, to time your reminder. It also refreshes your battle stats, equipment, Discord ID, property, job, spouse, and maximum happiness when anyone in your faction refreshes the Members page, at most once every 5 minutes. It's also used, at most 10 times a minute, to keep this site's shared copy of Torn's bounty board, bounty targets' statuses, and which factions are in ranked wars (public Torn data) up to date for everyone using the Bounty Hunter tool, and, while anyone in your faction has War Status open, to read your faction's members, chain, and ranked war and the enemy faction's members for them, every few seconds in turn with your faction's other members' saved keys, whether or not you have it open yourself. While you have Bounty Hunter open, it also checks the targets on your own list with your key, so they appear the moment they can be attacked: up to 40 times a minute in all, including the shared use above. When you refresh the Members page, your key also reads the public details of faction members who haven't saved a key here, within the same 40 a minute. When you open Easy Target, or War Status for its Outside Hit button, your key reads the public status and faction of the players FF Scouter suggests (at most 10 each time, shown only to you), within the same 40 a minute; your battle stats' current effects, such as a drug's, are taken into account. While you have War Status open, your key also reads your faction's war for everyone watching it when your faction's other saved keys are all at their limit, within the same 40 a minute. The first time one of your faction's leaders opens one of its ranked wars in the War Analysis tool, your key reads the attacks you made during that war (a request per 100 of them, once per war), because Torn's list of the faction's attacks hides stealthed attackers; it's used only to show your faction which faction mates you hospitalized, which is saved with the war. Requests made with your key are counted (in memory, not saved) so this site's owner can check they stay within these limits. It's also kept in a cookie in your browser to keep you logged in. It's shared only with FF Scouter (see Data sharing). Logging out only removes the cookie; to stop all access, delete the key in your Torn settings.
Key access level
Limited Access, the lowest preset level that can read your battle stats.
